CODE OF HONOR

Preamble

Living University selects its students from those who voluntarily are in harmony with the philosophy and principles of the University and its principal sponsor, the Living Church of God. Therefore, the University expects its students to reflect the character of the University in conduct, speech, and appearance, whether on or off campus, to their families, other students, the alumni, and the public. Living University students are to conduct themselves in a prudent, responsible, and ethical manner as members of the University community. This means they agree to act in good faith, to exhibit honesty, integrity, and exemplary conduct.

Standards

I recognize that enrollment and continuation at Living University is my personal choice. In recognition and appreciation of the benefits of my admission and continued enrollment as a student, I agree to abide by and uphold the following standards of the Code of Honor.

  1. Be in harmony with the philosophies and principles of Living University and its principal sponsor, the Living Church of God, with the understanding that I am not required to adopt such philosophies or principles as my personal religious convictions.

  2. Be honest in my behavior. Therefore, I understand that it is my responsibility not to do, or cause another to do, or condone, any act which is dishonest or unethical. This includes but is not limited to cheating, plagiarizing, or knowingly giving false information.

  3. Respect the personal rights of others. Therefore, I am committed to behavior which does not physically or verbally abuse any person, engage in conduct which threatens or endangers the health or safety of others, or obstruct or disrupt the study of others.

  4. Respect the property rights of others. Therefore, I know that I must not do, or cause another to do, any act which diminishes the property rights of another or interferes with those rights. This includes but is not limited to theft, concealment, damage or misuse, or wrongful appropriation or reproduction of another person's work product.

  5. Obey, honor, and sustain the law of the land.

  6. Avoid substance abuse of any kind or type. This includes but is not limited to, the possession, use, or distribution of any illegal substance (as defined by applicable law), except as prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner, or the possession, use, or distribution of any lawful substance in any manner that is socially irresponsible.

  7. Live a moral life which includes, but is not limited to, abstinence from all sexual relations outside the bonds of heterosexual marriage.

  8. Observe high standards of taste and decency which includes, but is not limited to, refraining from disorderly, lewd, indecent or obscene conduct or expression.

  9. Observe all university standards pertaining to dress and grooming.

  10. Comply with university policies, procedures, rules, and regulations as they presently exist or as they may be amended.

I have carefully and thoroughly read this Code of Honor and hereby voluntarily agree to adopt it as my own code of honor while a student at Living University. I am aware of its contents and fully understand each of its provisions. I recognize and acknowledge that continuing as a student at University is contingent upon my adherence to these standards.

I further understand that this document becomes a legally binding instrument for the enrollment period when electronically submitted  to the University by me.  Having given thoughtful consideration to the foregoing, I voluntarily affix my signature, and hereby fulfill this requirement as a prerequisite to my enrollment, by submitting this document electronically.
