Winnail, Scott D., Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, Associate Professor

B.S. Ed. (1992), University of Georgia; M.S.P.H. (1994), University of South Carolina; Ph.D. (1998), University of Alabama-Birmingham.

Dr. Scott Winnail holds degrees in health promotion & education and also public health from the universities of Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Winnail has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels for over a decade, in the field of Public Health and Health Promotion and Education.

In 1998, Dr. Winnail began serving as a faculty member at the University of Wyoming (UW), in the area of Health Education and Public Health. During his seven years at UW (tenured), Dr. Winnail worked at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of: teaching, redesign of program curricula, student advising, and direction of masters’ projects and theses. He also served on or chaired university committees at various levels.

Dr. Winnail’s areas of research interest have included: school health and coordinated school health programs, community development, community-based needs assessment, program evaluation, physical activity and nutrition, and parental involvement. Additionally while in Wyoming, Dr. Winnail worked closely with the Wyoming State Departments of Health and Education, many other state health organizations, and was also very active both at the state and national levels in the area of school health. Dr. Winnail currently serves in the US field ministry for the Living Church of God.
